Telling you about me is challenging. It’s like writing a dating profile, but I want someone to hire me for a job, not date me. It’s ridiculous and hilarious.
I’m a video editor from Nashville, Tennessee who finds almost anything funny.
I grew up playing lots of video games and camping throughout East Tennessee and Appalachia. I became interested in movies once I got into college, but I would still choose a good game over a good movie. I like rats. That’s my fun fact for every mixer and it always seems to get a reaction. There’s no real conclusion to a life bio since it keeps going on, but if I were to write a conclusion sentence, I think it’d just be "I like rats".
I love the start of a new project, the excitement of meeting my team, learning what I need to do, and figuring out a plan of attack. I’ve always liked to plan ahead and organize.
When I started working with video in high school, I was immediately drawn to editing. I never understood the idea of artistic expression until I started editing; it was a flexible arena where I could build a video however I wanted. When I first started editing, I also wasn’t extremely cautious of organization or what an “offline media” was, which led me on a journey toward discovering how to manage and organize dailies, which has now become one of my favorite parts of editing.
The beginning of a project is my favorite part because it all starts with organization. Prepping the pieces to come together. I’ve worked on all kinds of short video projects such as music videos, short films, documentaries, commercials, news packages, motion graphics, program overviews, social media videos, and weird niche internet series. I’m excited to keep learning, and also to move into longer format media and continue to edit and organize.
